    Furukawa Industrial Machinery Systems originated from the machinery division of  Furukawa Co., Ltd. (formerly Furukawa Mining Co., Ltd.) which was specialized in manufacture and maintenance of mining machinery. It has expanded to a variety of business areas while commercializing development of new products by applying its accumulated technologies.
    The company became the core company in Furukawa Company Group on March 31, 2005 by succeeding the general machinery business from the latter, thus integrating the production and sales capabilities. The transfer of a part of redundant business to Furukawa Otsuka  in the same group is an example of its effort for efficient management by selection and focusing of managerial resources. The company also continues expansion of business lines.
